RANCHI, India, Nov. 19 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 29:

1. Heard the parties.

2. Petitioner has been made accused in connection with Kamdara P.S. Case No. 01 of 2025 for the offences registered under Sections 385, 387 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 17 of the C.L.A. Act and subsequently, the same was converted into Sections 308(3), 308(4) of the B.N.S., 2023 and Section 17 of the C.L.A. Act, pending in the Court of learned Addl. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gumla.

3. During the intervening period between27.12.2024 to 29.12.2024, rangdari was demanded from the informant on behalf of PLFI from mobile No. 9065079207.

4. It was submitted that the petitioner is not named in the FIR. It was further submitted that the name of the petitioner has come in the confession of co-accused. It was finally submitted that several similarly situated co-accused persons have been granted bail by Co-ordinate Bench of this Court.

5. Learned A.P.P. for the State has opposed the prayer for bail and submitted that the petitioner has got criminal antecedent. 6. Considering the fact that there is no cogent material available on record against the petitioner, I am inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, above named, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Addl. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gumla, in connection with Kamdara P.S. Case No. 01 of 2025.
