RANCHI, India, Jan. 19 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Dec. 18:

1. No one appears on behalf of the petitioner.

2. Learned counsel for the respondents submits that exactly on the similar facts and on the same issue a writ petition being W.P.(S) No.7452 of 2025 has been dismissed.

3. After hearing the respondents, I find that admittedly the petitioner is not an employee of the Eastern Coalfields Limited, nor of the Holding Company i.e. Coal India Limited. He admittedly is the worker of a Government Contractor and General Order Supplier of the Eastern Coalfields Limited, namely Om Prakash Jaiswal, which is evident from Annexure-3 to this writ petition, which is a Letter issued by Om Prakash Jaiswal to the petitioner, to the effect that the petitioner will superannuate on 31.12.2020. Since the petitioner has superannuated, he now claims that his son-in-law has to be employed in terms of some Scheme.

4. Admittedly, there is no Scheme to suggest that the dependent of a Contractor-employee will be employed in the Eastern Coalfields Limited. Even if there is at all some arrangement / Scheme, that is absolutely in violation of the constitutional provisions. Further, the petitioner has got no right to seek appointment under the Eastern Coalfields Limited or the Coal India Limited. Thus, I find no merit in this writ petition.

5. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed.
