RANCHI, India, Dec. 19 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Nov. 19:
Heard the learned counsel for the respective sides.
This appeal is directed against the order dated 11.09.2025 passed by the learned Sessions Judge, Chatra in B.P. No. 550 of 2025, arising out of Pratappur PS Case No. 12 of 2025, whereby and whereunder, the prayer for bail of the appellant has been rejected.
The appellant had earlier moved for grant of bail before this Court in Cr. Appeal (DB) No. 539 of 2025 which however was rejected vide order dated 12.06.2025.
Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the appellant that the appellant is in custody since 30.01.2025 on account of recovery of a country made pistol and two live cartridges from his possession.
Learned A.P.P has opposed the prayer for bail of the appellant and has submitted that the appellant has got six criminal antecedents.
Regard being had to the period of custody undergone by the appellant, we while setting aside the order dated 11.09.2025 passed by the learned Sessions Judge, Chatra in B.P. No. 550 of 2025, arising out of Pratappur PS Case No. 12 of 2025, direct the appellant be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned SDJM, Chatra in connection with Pratappur PS Case No. 12 of 2025.
This appeal is allowed.
