IMPHAL, India, May 25 -- Manipur High Court issued the following order on April 24:

Present Mr.S.Gunabanta, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Th.Sukumar, learned Government Advocate for State respondent No.1 and Mr.N.Leo, learned counsel for private respondent No.3. None appears on behalf of respondent No.2.

By the present petition, petitioner is praying for setting aside the transfer and posting of petitioner and private respondent Nos.2 and 3 as Principals of the Government ITI Colleges.

During course of hearing, Mr.Th.Sukumar, learned Government Advocate has informed this Court about an order dated 3.2.2026 issued by Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (Personnel Division), Government of Manipur appointing the petitioner i.e. Longjam Subhaschandra Singh as Joint Director, Training, Directorate of Crafts & Training Manipur on in-charge basis to a higher post. It is submitted that with this subsequent order, cause of petition, i.e. about the dispute of transfer and posting as Principal, does not survive, as the petitioner has been given appointment to the higher post.

Order dated 3.2.2026 is taken on record.

Mr.S.Gunabanta, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the writ petition may be disposed of in view of the subsequent order dated 3.2.2026. Mr.N.Leo, learned counsel for respondent No.3 submits that this Court may pass any appropriate order in view of the subsequent order.

Recording the submissions made at the Bar and in view of order dated 3.2.2026 for placing the petitioner in a higher post, the writ petition is closed.

Interim order, if any, merges with the final order.

MC (WP(C)) No.395 of 2024 also stands closed.
