SHILLONG, India, April 20 -- Meghalaya High Court issued the following judgment/order on March 20:

1. This Misc. application has been filed jointly by the petitioner and the respondents Nos. 4 & 5.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for parties that during the pendency of the instant writ petition, the petitioner and the respondents Nos. 4 & 5, have arrived at an amicable settlement, which has been reduced in writing to a Deed of Settlement, the same has been notarized and annexed at Annexure-3, to the instant Misc. Case. They pray that in view of the Settlement arrived at between the parties, the writ petition may be closed.

3. This Court has noted the submissions made by the learned counsel for the parties and also perused the Deed of Settlement, appended to the Misc. Case.

4. Accordingly, in view of the Settlement that has been arrived at, wherein the compensation money to be received will be divided between the parties in the ratio of 50:50, nothing remains for consideration in the writ petition, and the same is disposed of.

5. Misc. Case is allowed and is accordingly disposed of.
