World Bicycle Day is celebrated every year on June 3. As part of the #SundaysOnCycle campaign, the Sports Authority of India organized a bicycle rally in Dhar today.
Savitri Thakur, Minister of State for Women and Child Development and Member of Parliament from Dhar constituency, was the chief guest at the event. She flagged off the cycle rally and encouraged youth and citizens to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
Cycling is an effective means of promoting a healthy lifestyle, environmental protection, and fitness. This initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, is playing a vital role in increasing awareness about sports and health among youth.
Under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the resolution of "Fit India" has today become a campaign of the people and is making an important contribution in building a healthy India.
On this occasion, District Magistrate Dhar Shri Rajiv Ranjan Meena ji, Superintendent of Police Dhar Shri Sachin Sharma ji and officers of the Sports Department were present.
