Under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), to enable States/ UTs to test water samples for water quality, and for sample collection, reporting, monitoring and surveillance of drinking water, an online JJM - Water Quality Management Information System (JJM-WQMIS) portal has been developed. The State-wise details of water quality test reported through WQMIS are available in public domain on JJM Dashboard and can also be accessed at https://ejalshakti.gov.in/WQMIS/Main/report
The details of drinking water quality testing reported by the State of Andhra Pradesh on JJM-WQMIS during last three years and the current year are given below:
State-wise details of water quality testing laboratories as reported by States/ UTs on JJM-IMIS as on 01.12.2025 are annexed.
Under JJM, States/UTs have been insisted to get their water quality testing laboratories accredited/ recognised to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and credibility of the data they produce. Meetings were also held with States/ UTs and accreditation bodies with the objective of addressing the concerns/ issues face by States/ UTs in accreditation process including shortage of assessors or delays in accreditation slots.
Advisories have been issued to States/ UTs to ensure that Hon'ble MPs are consulted while preparing District Action Plans for water supply schemes and are also invited as 'special invitees' in all the DWSM meetings. States/ UTs have also been advised that the minutes of the District Water & Sanitation Mission meetings should invariably be shared with respective Member(s) of Parliament for the respective District/ Division for his/ her perusal.
The information was provided by THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR JAL SHAKTI SHRI V. SOMANNA in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
