( a ) : The National Marine Fisheries Census 2025 [ Marine Fisheries Census ( MFC - 2025 ) ] is more comprehensive than past censuses and the methodology of census has changed to digital . In addition to households , fishing craft and gear , the fisheries census now systematically covers aquaculture units , landing centres , boat - building yards , ice plants , freezing and processing facilities , curing and peeling sheds , and wholesale markets . The electronic schedules prepared for the census also include self - help groups , fish farmer producer organizations ( FFPOs ) , cooperatives , and other institutional structures in fishing villages .​​​​​​​​Unlike paper - based visits of the past , MFC 2025 uses real - time digital calculations using geo - referencing , uniform national protocols , and automated quality checks , resulting in more accurate , comprehensive , and detailed data .

( b ): Vyas India and Vyas Sutra are the main digital platforms of Marine Fisheries Census They enable real time data entry with GPS tagging , automated verification of records , and seamless synchronization with central servers .​​​ Inspectors and central teams can see progress and location - specific updates live on the dashboard and it is helpful to timely monitor and take corrective steps .​ This technology enabled activity ensures improved transparency , accuracy and operational efficiency in all coastal districts .​​​

( c ) : Yes , Sir . The census includes socio - economic profiling ( livelihoods , income categories , education , assets , access to schemes , risk indicators ) and institutional mapping ( cooperatives , self - help groups , FFPOs , service units ) . Enumerators also facilitate digital registration of fishermen on the National Fisheries Digital Platform ( NFDP ) , contributing to the creation of an integrated and authenticated national fisheries database .

( d ) : The datasets generated through the Marine Fisheries Census 2025 will serve as a foundation for evidence - based policymaking and governance . These datasets will provide information for region - specific management and infrastructure planning , climate - resilience strategies , targeted welfare delivery , and beneficiary certification . Additionally , these datasets will strengthen program monitoring and enable more efficient allocation of resources based on geospatial and household - level evidence .​​​​​​​​​
