Adequate measures are in place to ensure the security of nuclear power plants which are subjected to periodic audits & reviews and necessary upgrades. To address the extremely unlikely event, plans approved by the regulatory authority are put in place at all Nuclear Power Plant sites, including Tarapur Atomic Power Plant, before the start of operation. Periodic exercises are carried out to confirm the decision-making capabilities, implementation of security provisions, response timeline, co-ordination among response agencies, availability of necessary resources etc. All the plant personnel are well trained in safety, emergency and security measures. Periodical mock drills on different emergency situations are being conducted by Security Personnel and the reports pertaining to the same are reviewed by concerned officials.
