PATNA, India, July 9 -- Patna High Court issued the following judgment on July 3:
Heard Ms. Chhaya Kirti, the learned Advocate for the appellants and Mr. Satyabir Bharti, the learned Senior Advocate for the respondent /Zila Parishad, West Champaran, Bettiah.
2. By the impugned judgment dated 12.06.2025 passed in CWJC No. 9243 of 2025, the appellants (writ petitioners therein) were permitted to apply before the Zila Parishad, West Champaran, Bettiah for renewal /regularization of their lease subject to the condition of deposit of certain amount and rental for three months.
3. Though initially, Ms. Chhaya Kirti, the learned Advocate for the appellants chose to contest the judgment impugned but after some arguments agreed that the appellants would be satisfied if the time for filing necessary application before the Zila Parishad is extended by a period of three weeks.
4. We, therefore, deem it appropriate to modify the judgment dated 12.06.2025, permitting the appellants to apply for renewal / regularization of the lease of the shops alloted to them earlier after having complied with the conditions set forth to which, the appellants had earlier agreed to.
5. With the aforenoted modification in the judgment dated 12.06.2025, the appeal stands disposed off.
