PATNA, India, Sept. 3 -- Patna High Court issued the following judgment on Aug. 4:

Heard Learned Counsel for the petitioners, Learned Counsel for the State and Learned Counsel for the Patna High Court.

2. The present writ petition has been filed with the following reliefs:-

"(i). Issuance of a direction, order or writ, including writ in the nature of certiorari quashing the result of the candidates for appointment against the post of Court Reader-cum-Deposition Writer pursuant to Employment No. 03/2022 contained in corrigendum notice dated 06/09/2024 insofar as the same related to the candidates, who have been declared to be qualified despite the accuracy of the typing test being less than 90% in English typing and Hindi typing;

(ii) Issuance of a direction, order, or writ, including writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the concerned respondent authorities in the Office of the Convenor, Centralized Selection and Appointment Committee- cum-District and Sessions Judge, Patna, to undertake the recasting of the merit list for appointment to the post of Court Reader-cum-Deposition Writer under Employment Notice No. 03/2022, strictly in accordance with the minimum qualifying criteria prescribed for the skill test as outlined in the said advertisement.

(iii) Issuance of a direction, order or writ, including writ in the nature of mandamus commanding the concerned authorities in the Office of the Convenor, Centralized Selection and Appointment Committee-cumDistrict and Sessions Judge, Patna to take steps towards considering the cases of the petitioners for appointment against the post of Court Reader-cum-Deposition Writer in different civil court in State of Bihar pursuant to Employment Notice No. 03/2022 based on their performance in the process of selection conducted pursuant to the said advertisement particularly taking note of their accuracy in English typing and Hindi typing as the case may be and the minimum qualifying standards having been prescribed by the Office of Convener, Centralized Selection And Appointment Committee-Cum-District And Sessions Judge, Patna.

(iv) Issuance of a direction, order or writ, including the writ in the nature of mandamus commanding the concerned authorities to take necessary steps towards extending all the consequential benefits in favor of the petitioners as they are found to be entitled to appointment against the post of Court Reader-cum-Deposition Writer pursuant to the aforesaid Employment Notice No. 03/2022 based on their performance in the process of selection conducted by the concerned authorities;

(v) Any other relief that the petitioners may be found to be entitled to in the facts and circumstances of the present case."
