PATNA, India, June 10 -- Patna High Court issued the following order on May 12:

Heard the parties.

2. The petitioner happens to be husband of the O.P. No. 2 apprehends his arrest in connection with Complaint Case No. 142 of 2024, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 323, 324, 498(A), 379, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, wherein cognizance has been taken under Section 498(A) of the Indian Penal Code.

3. At the outset, learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that in fact on account of a family feud and differences between the couple, the present complaint case came to be instituted. It is further alleged that the marriage was solemnized ten years ago and both the parties have four children and moreover, the petitioner has always been ready to keep the complainant as his wife with full dignity and honour.

4. Learned Advocate for the O.P. No. 2 submits that there is a chance of settlement, only on a condition if the petitioner mends his ways and keep the O.P. No. 2 with dignity and honour.

5. Considering the submissions advanced, let the matter be placed before the Patna High Court Mediation Center where both the parties shall ensure their appearance on 16.05.2025 at 11:00 AM along with the order of this Court.

6. On the appearance of both the parties, the learned Mediator shall take all sincere efforts to reconcile the matter and submit a report preferably within a period of six weeks.

7. Re-notify this case on 14.07.2025 along with the report of the learned Mediator.

8. In the meanwhile, the interim protection granted in favour of the petitioner shall continue.
