India, Aug. 13 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey informed today in Lok Sabha that the Ministry of Home Affairs has informed that the issue pertains to reservation of seats in the Sikkim Legislative Assembly for Limboo and Tamang Scheduled Tribes, which is presently sub judice before the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in SLP (Civil) No. 26490/2023, Sikkim Gorkha Jagran Sangh vs. Union of India & Ors.
This matter is sub judice and is, therefore, covered under Rule 41(2)(xviii) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha, which provides that a question shall not seek information on a matter under adjudication before a court of law having jurisdiction in any part of India.
