The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) implemented by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying inter-alia focus on creation of fisheries and aquaculture infrastructure facilities. The fisheries infrastructure supported under PMMSY primarily include Fishing Harbours and Fish Landing Centres, Ice Plants, Cold Storages, Fish Markets both Wholesale and Retail Markets, Integrated Aquaparks, Feed Mills, Hatcheries, Brood Banks, Live Fish Vending Centres, Climate Resilient Coastal Fishing Villages (CRCFV), Artificial Reefs etc. The Department of Fisheries, Government of India has accorded approval to proposals of various State Government and Union Territories amounting to Rs.7501 crore for development of these infrastructure facilities under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has reported that during last three years, 3 Fishing Harbours and 3 Fish landing Centres, one Integrated Aqua park, 22 units- Artificial reefs and

15-Climate Resilient Coastal Fishermen Villages (CRCFV) at a total cost of Rs. 1330.11 crore have been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). The Government of Andhra Pradesh further reported the completion of installation of 22 artificial reef units and the remaining projects are at various stages of implementation. The district-wise and year-wise details of the fisheries infrastructure projects approved for development in Andhra Pradesh under PMMSY as reported by the Government of Andhra Pradesh are furnished at Annexure-I.

The Department of Fisheries, Government of India also accords paramount importance for social security of fishers, fish farmers and fish workers etc. During the last three years, insurance coverage to 1,03,47,716 fishers and fish farmers have been provided with an average 34,49,238 fishers annually. The Government of Andhra Pradesh had not participated in insurance activities of PMMSY during last three years (FY 2022-23 to FY 2024-25). The state-wise and year-wise details of the insurance cover provided to fishers and fish farmers are furnished at Annexure-II.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has reported that no specific projects like (i) Genetic Improvement Programmes, (ii) Nucleus Breeding Centres (NBCs) and (iii) boundary wall/fencing infrastructure for biosecurity have been proposed/taken up under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).
