India, Jan. 8 -- The Government of India has issued a release:

The first meeting of the 14th "Hindi Salahkar Samiti" of the Official Language Division , Legislative Department , Ministry of Law and Justice was held today under the chairmanship of Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice , at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre , New Delhi. The topic of progressive use of the official language was discussed on this occasion.

Union Minister Shri Meghwal expressed satisfaction with the initiatives and efforts of the Ministry's Official Language Division to promote Hindi. He commended the Official Language Division of the Legislative Department for its commendable work in using the official language, Hindi, in the field of law. During the meeting , important decisions were taken to ensure the promotion and propagation of the official language, i.e., Hindi , in the field of law . He emphasized that the utility of the official language should be viewed from the common man's perspective, which includes "ease of doing work ," " simplicity in the use of words and expressions , " and "expression of thoughts and actions without ambiguity, in accordance with the true spirit . "

Shri Bhartruhari Mahtab , Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language, expressed his views on holding regular meetings of the Hindi Salahkar Samiti and suggested simplification of Hindi words for the benefit and ease of understanding of citizens. He also suggested that necessary administrative steps be taken to advance the Official Language Section.

Non-official members also suggested various measures to promote the use of Hindi in the field of law and its use in courts.
