A special meeting of officers and employees was held today at the Department of Fertilizers, Kartavya Bhawan, chaired by Rajat Kumar Mishra , Secretary , Department of Fertilizers. The "Service Pledge" given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was reiterated, and its objectives and implementation methods were discussed in detail.
This event coincided with the historic first meeting of the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, held in the new Prime Minister's Office , Seva Teerth, on 24 February 2026. The Prime Minister had said that the confluence of duty , service and dedication should make this workplace as sacred as a pilgrimage site - this is its core spirit.
In its first meeting at Seva Teerth, the Union Cabinet resolved that every decision taken here would be inspired by the spirit of service of 140 crore countrymen and would be linked to the broader goal of nation building.
In keeping with this spirit, today, under the leadership of Mr. Rajat Kumar Mishra (Secretary), all officers and employees of the Department of Fertilizers reiterated the Prime Minister's "Seva Pledge." Following the pledge, the Secretary addressed the officers and employees and engaged in a meaningful discussion on the government's various positive achievements. He asked the officers and employees present to share their thoughts on the impact of these changes.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Aparna S. Sharma , Additional Secretary, described the toilet in every household as a major achievement , which has freed women from open defecation.
Dr. Krishna Kant Pathak , Joint Secretary, described the linking of banks with Aadhaar as an important achievement , which enabled subsidies and government facilities to reach the beneficiaries directly.
Apart from this, the officers and employees highlighted Jan Dhan Yojana , Digital India , Ayushman Bharat health services , development of infrastructure , women development , Anganwadi services , expansion of transport and communication facilities , role of self-help groups and public welfare schemes as major achievements.
The Secretary described the decision of the Prime Minister in 2014 to end the VVIP culture of red lights as a historic and bold initiative , which strengthened the spirit of equality and humility in governance.
Concluding his address, he said that the government trusts all of us, and this trust further increases our responsibility. He clarified that understanding one's duty is the greatest wisdom.
He urged the officers and employees to work with full dedication in the new work environment available in Kartavya Bhawan , clearly define their contribution and responsibility and incorporate the spirit of service resolution in their daily work.
