India, July 28 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CMFRI) has assessed that the trawl-based landings have shown no palpable decline in fish landings during 2021-2025. As per the Marine Fish Stock Status of India (2022) publication of the ICAR-CMFRI, the marine fish stocks of the Indian waters are in good health, and 91.1% of the 135 fish stocks evaluated in different regions of the Indian EEZ were found sustainable.
This information was given by Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh in the Lok Sabha in response to a question asked.
