AGARTALA, India, March 11 -- Tripura High Court issued the following order/judgement on Feb. 10:

1. Heard counsel for the parties.

2. This application is filed seeking condonation of delay of 157 days in preferring the connected Writ Appeal against the judgment dt.13.03.2025 in WP(C) No.183/2023.

3. The applicant/appellant is a pensioner and a senior citizen.

4. In the application seeking condonation of delay, he has given details of the counsel whom he had approached initially, and the present counsel who he subsequently approached, and explained that because the matter had a chequered history, there was some time taken in obtaining legal advice to file the appeal, and the delay in filing the appeal be condoned.

5. Though counsel for the respondents-Bank has strongly opposed the condonation of delay, taking into account the fact that the appellant is a senior citizen and also a pensioner, and since the record reveals that certain steps had been taken by him to file the Writ Appeal within the time specified, but for certain reasons indicated by him, it could not be filed within the said time, the said delay is condoned on payment of cost of Rs.200/- to the High Court Legal Services Committee, High Court of Tripura, Agartala within two weeks.

6. IA stands disposed of.

7. List the matter [WA No.105/2025] on 18.03.2026 after payment of cost.
