Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan held an important review meeting with state agriculture ministers today . The meeting discussed in detail the progress and budget utilization status of various central agriculture schemes , including the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM - RKVY ) and the Krishonnati Yojana ( KYC ) .
Addressing the meeting , the Union Minister said that budget allocations are often delayed due to minor administrative and procedural issues , which impacts the effective implementation of schemes . He directed the states to ensure the utilization of budgets allocated for various schemes before March .
The Union Minister stated that if states are unable to spend their budgets on time , it only results in losses for them . He emphasized that states should utilize their budgets with a pre - planned strategy , so that the benefits of the schemes reach farmers on time and the next installment from the center can be released on time .
During the meeting , the Union Minister emphasized the need for prompt verification of eligible farmers under the PM - KISAN scheme , the need to cover as many farmers as possible under the crop insurance scheme , and the timely settlement of claims . Emphasis was also placed on the availability and balanced use of seeds and fertilizers , and the need to further strengthen central - state coordination .
The meeting was attended by Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Shri Surya Pratap Shahi , Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Shri Dattatreya Bharane , Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Dr. Kishori Lal Meena , Uttarakhand Agriculture Minister Shri Ganesh Joshi , and Mizoram Agriculture Minister . Agriculture Ministry Secretary Shri Devesh Chaturvedi and senior Ministry officials were also present .
The Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister assured the states that the Central Government will continue to provide all possible support to strengthen the agriculture sector and in the interest of farmers .
