India, Jan. 15 -- The Government of India issued the following news release:

Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment (SJ&E), Dr. Virendra Kumar, today laid the foundation stone for the new building of the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) for the rehabilitation of Divyangjan in Jamdoli, Jaipur. The event was graced by Rajasthan's Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Avinash Gehlot; Additional Chief Secretary (D/o SJ&E, Rajasthan), Shri Kuldeep Ranka; Commissioner of the Department of Specially-abled Persons (Rajasthan), Shri H. Guite; and Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Shri Rajesh Aggarwal.

Dr. Virendra Kumar expressed gratitude towards the Rajasthan Government for allocating 2.5 acres of land in the Social Justice Sankul of Jamdoli for this significant project. He announced that the new CRC building will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 30 crore and will include a Cross-Disability Early Intervention Centre. This center will provide medical and educational support for young children with disabilities.

Dr. Kumar requested the Rajasthan Government to allocate an additional 2.5 acres of land for expanding the center to develop residential facilities for Divyang students and professionals. The Minister also distributed aids and assistive devices to Divyang and senior citizen beneficiaries today.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Avinash Gehlot emphasized that the state government is fully committed to supporting the Central Government's welfare schemes for Divyangjan. Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, reaffirmed the Union Government's commitment to delivering high-quality services to Divyangjan.
