India, Oct. 17 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, today held a high-level meeting at the local Collectorate office of Raisen district under his parliamentary constituency and gave instructions after reviewing various matters of public interest in detail.
In the meeting, Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan reviewed the availability of fertilizers in Raisen district and in the presence of public representatives of the district, took complete information from the District Magistrates. Shri Shivraj Singh said that farmers should not face any problem anywhere , for this while giving instructions for proper arrangements, Shri Shivraj Singh said that such arrangements should be made so that farmers do not have to stand in queues. Senior officials of the Union Fertilizer Ministry, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry and Madhya Pradesh were also present in the meeting , to whom Shri Shivraj Singh clearly said that farmers should not face any shortage of fertilizers for the Rabi crop. We should make every effort so that farmers do not face any shortage of fertilizers.
Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh told all the administrative officers to tell them how much DAP they need , I will also talk to him in Delhi and strengthen the current arrangement for fertilizer distribution and ensure that there is no black marketing , no diversion , and the fertilizer is sold only for where it has come . While instructing the collector, Shri Shivraj Singh said that you should work out on two things , how much DAP do you need and secondly, make such a distribution system that farmers do not have to stand in queues. The Agriculture Ministry , Fertilizer Ministry and the State Government should together ensure that there is no problem of fertilizer .
Shri Shivraj Singh said that we should strive to reassure farmers that there is no shortage of fertilizers . Sometimes, shortages arise due to hasty stockpiling. He said that farmers should be guaranteed fertilizers. A daily bulletin on social media could also be issued regarding fertilizer availability.
On another important issue, Mr. Shivraj Singh said that if local officials submit an accurate assessment of soybean crop losses, it is his responsibility to ensure farmers receive their claims. He added that he will provide relief to farmers through the provisions of RB 6/4 and the Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme. He asked the Collector if he had conducted a survey using crop cutting experiments . If so, please send it to him through the state government. He would speak with the crop insurance agency. It is our duty to conduct a proper survey , ensuring farmers' satisfaction. Mr. Shivraj Singh also clearly stated that the issues of pigeon pea , soybean, and maize should be taken seriously. He added that another issue has come to his attention: remote sensing can accurately assess wheat losses, but not soybean losses . Therefore, he urged the Collector to conduct a crop cutting experiment to ensure a proper survey .
Recently, Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh had also visited the flood victims , regarding providing them help, he raised the issue in the meeting and said that as soon as he gets the report of damaged houses, he will get Rs 1.60 lakh from MNREGA including houses , toilets etc. from the Rural Development Ministry at the central level . Shri Shivraj Singh said that my concern is that the houses of the flood victims which he had visited should be built . The officials should quickly report how many houses have been damaged , so that he can provide them Rs 1.60 lakh per house including houses , toilets etc.
Shri Shivraj Singh also reviewed the current condition of the roads of Raisen Municipal Corporation and gave necessary guidelines regarding necessary construction and improvement , cleanliness and arrangements in the city on Diwali.
