India, Aug. 20 -- The Government of India has issued a release:

Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Annpurna Devi today chaired a review meeting at Kolkata of the schemes of the Ministry of Women and Child Development being implemented in West Bengal. Union Minister of State of Women & Child Development, Smt Savitri Thakur, Smt. Malati Rava Roy, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Government of West Bengal and Shri Anil Malik, Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt of India also graced the occasion. Senior Officers from the Union Ministry of WCD and the Women & Child Development & Social Welfare Department and the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of West Bengal were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Annpurna Devi said that to realize the vision of the Prime Minister of women led development and a Viksit Bharat ,co-ordinated action was necessary. She said that review should translate into action ,action into outcome and outcome into transformation. She emphasised on time bound implementation of schemes at the ground level, transparency and real time monitoring of schemes so that they could reach the intended beneficiaries.

The Union Minister thanked the officers of the State Government for their participation and expressed confidence that, with better coordination and a shared commitment, West Bengal will be able to deliver the full benefits of these schemes to its women and children.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the schemes under Mission Shakti, Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0 and Mission Vatsalya in West Bengal. Effective use of digital platforms such as the Poshan Tracker, the PMMVY portal etc was also discussed.

The Consultative Committee of Members of Parliament for the Ministry of Women and Child Development is scheduled to meet tomorrow at Kolkata. The meeting will be chaired by Smt. Annpurna Devi, Union Minister of Women and Child Development and attended by Smt. Savitri Thakur, Minister of State, along with members of Parliament.
