NAINITAL, India, May 28 -- Uttarakhand High Court issued the following judgment/order May 5:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.

2. The petitioner has prayed for the following prayers:-

"i. To issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no.1 to 5 to relieve the respondent no.7 from the school as directed by respondent no.5 vide letter dated 02.12.2023.

ii. To issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no.1 to 5 to attach the respondent no.7 to the office of respondent no.4 or any other office which the authorities deems proper so that the respondent no.7 may not influence the inquiry on the 17 allegations leveled against the respondent no.7.

iii. To direct the respondent no.1 to 5 to complete the inquiry the 17 points allegations leveled by the department against the respondent no.7 and after that take proper decision against the respondent no.7."

3. It is apparent that private dispute is being canvassed under the guise of a public interest. The nature of dispute has no public interest involved, and what is canvassed is the private rivalry between the competing parties to the post of Principal.

4. In that view, we reject the writ petition.

5. The rejection of writ petition will not come in the way of the petitioner to approach the appropriate authorities.

6. As a sequel thereto, pending application, if any, shall stand closed.
