The applicant, Baljeet Singh, is in judicial custody for the offence under Section 8 read with Section 21 and Section 60 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (in short, "Act, 1985") in Case Crime No. 84 of 2025, registered at Police Station Banbasa, District Champawat.

According to the First Information Report, on 02.09.2025, the police saw the applicant coming on a motorcycle. Seeing the police, he tried to run away and was apprehended. Upon search, the police recovered 213 gm smack from a polythene bag kept in the right pocket of his pants. He was arrested at 23:55 hrs.
