Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey informed Lok Sabha that Grants-in-aid under Proviso to Article 275(1) of Constitution of India are 100% annual grant from Government of India to 26 States. It is provided to State Governments with notified Scheduled Tribes (STs) based upon proposals received from the State Government duly approved by Executive Committee of the State (headed by Chief Secretary) and after appraisal and approval thereof by a Project Appraisal Committee (PAC) constituted in this Ministry for this purpose. Funding under this programme is to enable the State to meet the cost of such schemes of development as may be undertaken by the State for the purpose of promoting the welfare of STs in that State.

Under the scheme, Only State wise allocation is made. District wise allocation isnot made under the scheme. The allocation made to the State of Chhattisgarh under the said scheme during the last three years is given below:-
